First up, "The Road:"
The world is dying, or at least that is what you are suppose to assume. Plants and animals are basically all gone, random fires seem to pop up everywhere and almost no humans anywhere and the humans you come across are probably cannibals. The story follows a boy and his father in the present, and a boy his father and mother in flash backs, no names are ever given. The father is teaching his son how to make it in the world alone, while also sheltering him from the harsh fact that no one can be trusted. His father is also blinded and refuses to believe there are any other "good guys" out there, when at many points during the film they are right around the corner or above their heads.
This is a scary world. I think some people have a fantasy of living in a post-apocalyptic world, but this is not the world you would want to live in. Food is next to impossible to find, and you quite possibly could be some persons lunch.
The Acting is fantastic, and it has a great slow-paced story, it's worth a watch.

Next up the TV show "Jericho:"
This is one of those amazing shows that just could not get the right fan base that it deserved.
Jericho is a small city in Wyoming(I think, it has been awhile since I have watched this series) and how the towns people survive after the major cities in the United States were bombed by what seems to be an inside job. Relationships are strong in this story, and kept me tuning in each week(I guess not everyone felt this way, as the show was canceled after the first season). By the end of the first season, I was left wanting more.
Fans did eventually get a second season, but it was short and also not nearly as good as the first. Many people die in this series, but in the first season it felt well thought out, in the second season it felt like they killed people just kill them.
Overall, a great story and worth a watch, check it out.
9 out of 10 for the first season
6 out of 10 for the second season
7.5 out of 10 over all
