I decided for my first post, that I needed to start with my current favorite TV show, which is "Chuck." This show has been on the brink of cancellation every season, the only reason that this show is around is because of its fans. I was one of those fans going out to subway and filling out customer comment cards to keep this show going and I made sure not to miss an episode.
Now for the actual review:
Something I always look for in a story is well thought out characters, and that is what "Chuck" brings to the table. Zac Levi really is Chuck, he embraces his nerdy-ness in the show, as well as in real life. Yvonne Strahovski impresses me every episode as Sarah with her American accent and what seems to be her ability to cry at will. Joshua Gomez as Morgan Grimes is my favorite character in the show, and he truly does play the perfect nerd in every way. Last but not least is Adam Baldwin who plays John Casey, the ultra-conservative Ronald Reagan loving super spy for the NSA. There are three distinct aspects of the show; one is Chuck's spy life, which is most people's favorite part of the show, and what the show revolves around; two is Chuck's love life, from the first episode the fans wanted Chuck to be with Sarah, and the writers keep the viewers entertained with reasons why they actually can't get together; and three the Buy-Morons, this is the comic relief in a comedic show.
The last five minutes of this show always brings a great scene, as the music is always top notch and has actually influenced what music I listen to on a regular basis. I am a true nerd at heart and love to see the guest stars that are in every episode, whether they are Pro Wrestlers like Stone Cold Steve Austin or iconic Sci-fi super stars like Mark Hamil.
I have not felt so attached to characters in any other show and for that reason alone this show is a must see in my book.
My only problem with the show(and this only comes from watching the show sooooo much) is that there is quite a few continuity problems, who ever has the job for checking for that really has dropped the ball, but the story is really strong and worth a watch.
9 out of 10 Stars: Only cause NBC always drops the ball, cancels them and brings them back causing filler episodes.
